A marsh with tall grass and birds
Squishy, colourful fields of growth.
The trail head start is next to the canoe rental place. Sign post says, Nature Dyke Trail. Follow this narrow trail which is un-attended and bushy at times with some ground erosion. You are walking in between the marshes. After 1.8 K you come to a viewing tower and the trail now is wider on a grassy road. This is where the views open up. It’s stunning. Keep walking along until you come to a gravel dyke road, turn left. One side is Pitt Lake and the other is the bigger marsh. We found thousands of wild lilies, slithering snakes in the tall grass, Cliff Swallows, Canada Geese, Osprey and Red Wing Blackbirds singing high in the trees. Walk along the gravel road which takes you back to the parking lot where you started earlier. This is a diamond in the ruff…Happy & safe trails.
